Snake!

In class the students are practicing their skills using a game I call snake.  In the game the students are given a problem, the person in front of them and to their sides are their resources to help them with the problem.  After each problem the students move around the room in a snake like motion allowing them new partners every problem.

Scientific Noatation

In class we did an activity in which students had to research the average distance each planet is from the sum.  Once they had the distance the students then converted the number into scientific notation.

Adding Integers activity

In this activity students are using a deck of cards to add integers.  Much like using jumper cables the red cards represent positive and black cards represent negative numbers.  The goal of the game is for you and your opponent to flip a card over at the same time.  Whoever adds the two numbers together correctly wins those two cards.  After the two players have gone through the deck the player with the most cards is the winner.  Each class had a champion and ours were Evan Crawford, Baylee Oliver, Trent Hawkins, and Travis Palmer.

Math Games

Here is a picture of us playing playing Math Games.  In this game students were given a list of problems to choose from.  After writing the problem down they were given the oportunity to wad their papers up and shoot at the basketball goal.  Then they picked up the paper wads and worked the problem that was written on that paper.
